Psalm 23

Image
Children are way smarter and can understand more than we realise. This is not to show how perfect of a family we are because we are not. In fact, this is precisely why we need God. Because we are not perfect. and we are raising children who need a solid foundation in a fallen, imperfect world.

It's a Geyman Thing

Image
While growing up with my bothers and my older sister, I can recollect many instances of taking on the cold with no regard. Such as hiking in the mountains through deep snow in sandals or breaking a hole in the ice in order to land in it on the way down the zip line... You know, contacting freezing water hurts a lot more after a 30 foot drop than it normally does.  Perhaps some would regard this as abnormal behaviour, or maybe just a great definition of stupidity. But I like to think of it differently. It was just another way to have great fun! Sometimes this behaviour resulted in ghastly consequences, such as when  Isaac ran barefoot through deep snow all the way to the barn and subsequently added a pitchfork to the length of his foot's anatomy. But overall, we all survived and came through with some great memories. Memories forged in ice. I just barely got out of the way with my camera.  This reminds me of a tradition I had growing up....

57 Hours Later - We made it!

Image
Over two days later with a total of fifty-seven hours of travel - we finally made it to Pennsylvania! Below is a condensed version of our trip on video.

Is It Worth It?

Image
Our time in Idaho is quickly coming to an end. With that, we have a quick update, prayer requests, and some thoughts about our next step. The view from our front window of our house. Absolutely gorgeous! With the seasons changing the picture is new every day.

Two Sweethearts

Image
Leaving Idaho in Two Weeks! This is one of my favourite pictures of one of my favourite spots in Idaho's mountains. We are so excited for what God has planned for us in Tanzania. In the meantime, next stop, Pennsylvania! On Another Note: The girls turned 5 weeks on Wednesday. They have changed so much in a month! They have gained almost 150% of their body weight. At that rate, I would have to gain around 70 lbs in five weeks! Not good for me, great for them as they are now 7lb 2oz and 7lb 4oz! Their personalities are definitely starting to show more and more. I am so proud of my wife. To say the least, the past month has been full of an incredible amount of transition and stresses which she has had to handle while waking up every few hours during the night to feed them both. I am blessed to be married to such an amazing women! There is nothing as sweet as a mother's love for her child.

A New Experience

Legacy

Image
Priceless. Seeing my grandfather, who is a twin himself, hold our twin girls. The expression on his face was similar to my Mom's when she first held them. Probably flashbacks to when I was a baby with my twin brother. There is nothing like the legacy passed down from godly grandparents who have taught their children to love and follow their God. They in turn being my parents have passed down to me the same and I pray to continue this legacy with my children. She did not pose. Believe me when I say it, but this picture stretched all my skills at blackmail and super fast point and shoot.    I was also able to see my cousin play her Taylor GS Mini. Reminded me of how much I want to really learn to play the guitar.

Tivoli Eating her Sister

Image
The other night I could not resist taking a video of Tivoli using Esther as a passy.   It has been a while since I filmed this one, but with an imminent move in a month, I thought it would be appropriate. This coming move will be number fourteen since I married Carmen.

Names Have Meanings #2

Image
Earlier this spring Jacob wrote the post  Names Have Meanings  for our boys.  Following Geyman family tradition, both our girls have two middle names.  (Below, Left - Tivoli & Right - Esther) Esther Tianna Joy -  A joyful star who follows Christ The book of Esther is Jacob's favorite book of the old testament. She was a woman of God who defied odds, trusted, and was willing to lay down her life for the people of God. Tianna was a Christian martyr with the name meaning "follower of Christ.  We pray that she will be just that!  During my last two pregnancies, God has given me a word that applied to the circumstances surrounding child-bearing. It was Joy. To choose joy and thankfulness in the midst of any circumstance I find myself in no matter how hard or easy it may be. This is what He has been teaching me. Tivoli Moriah Rain - A city on a hill where God teaches Tivoli is a beautiful hilltop city in Ita...

Meet Our Girls

Image
Welcome to the world Esther Tianna Joy and Tivoli Moriah Rain! May God give us the strength and wisdom to raise you to love the Creator, God, who has brought you into this world.  Yes! I got my two little princesses! I am so proud of her. Five hours of incredible pain and eight months of carrying the girls through a move across the States and two weeks in Tanzania. I am so blessed by her. Right now I am so grateful for two healthy daughters and wife. God is so good! Born at 36 weeks Esther: Wt - 5 lbs 2 oz, born 8:02am Tivoli: Wt - 5 lbs 6 oz, born 8:20am  We were so grateful that my mom could be there to help out.  The boys were super excited to meet their new sisters...though before long they were more interested in the grapes brought to Carmen for lunch and all the light switches. Going through the pictures, Carmen and I are having lengthy debates as to who is who. I am convinced that Esther is on the left an...

Those Moments in Tanzania...

Image
I have been asked what Tanzania was like by many individuals. To explain all the sights, smells, and environements would seem near impossible sometimes. I think though that pictures may come as close as possible. While in Tanzania I was able to catch a few of those experiences which seem to come and go so quickly. There were many times, such as when a driver intentially turned around in a busy one way to go back to his exit or when on the same street a traditionally garbed Masai, red gaurment and rod, crossed the street in the middle of a modern city. If only I had my camera out and ready.   Something about being in another country is simply figuring out how to do simple tasks. Things such as transportation, communication, eating and letting what has been eaten out becomes a little less than simple. Where is the toilet paper? Shoot... Oh, this looks more familiar, but again same issue as before. And who in the world decided the toilet needed a ...
