Geyman News

Our drive from Idaho to North Carolina went well and we have been here on the JAARS base in Waxhaw for a week now! During the past few weeks of driving, we were constantly reminded of God’s hand of protection on us   while we went through the States and we are very grateful. It has been a busy week of moving into our apartment, finding new places for grocery shopping, getting ID badges, and settling the boys into mornings at the MK (missionary kid) Center, but it has been reassuring to know that we will be settled for the next five months as we complete the Intercultural Communications Course and flight  training in preparation for Tanzania.

We anticipate the next four weeks are going to be challenging as we delve into the Intercultural Communications Course (ICC). The overview of the class looks amazing! Combined, the facilitators have  over 600 years of cross cultural experience and we will be exploring topics such as language, culture acquisition,  worldview, spiritual vitality, and how to effectively work with a multi-national team. Please pray for us.

Our class of forty is made up of married couples and singles, young and old, former missionary kids and those with no former mission background. Coming from all over the USA they are headed to many different countries such as Africa,   Indonesia, and Papua New Guinea.

The boys LOVE their “school” as Silas has taken to calling it. Their mornings are filled with play time, puzzles, indoor or outdoor play grounds, bikes, games, story time and other activities.
