57 Hours Later - We made it!

Over two days later with a total of fifty-seven hours of travel - we finally made it to Pennsylvania! Below is a condensed version of our trip on video.

    Will continue to keep you all in our prayers. The train trip looked like an adventure! I'm originally from PA, a small town called Dushore, in Sullivan County. I hope you are getting more sleep now. God bless your family.

      Wow! Small world. Dushore is not that far from here. We are just north of Towanda. Getting more sleep now for sure and enjoying family.

    If your in-laws know Dushore, my folks owned and ran Miller's Hardware Store on Rt.220. Mother, Rosie, passed away in 2014 at age 91. I was Cassie Miller. Yes, I know Towanda, Athens, Sayre, etc. My old stomping grounds!

Growing Sweethearts

It is about time we updated pictures of the children. The girls are growing and changing so fast! Every day they learn new things and get faster at crawling. Tivoli says Mama regularly and said Dada for the first time the other day! Esther is seriously addicted to her fingers and Tivoli decided a pacifier is a wonderful thing. They are nine months now. Tivoli (yellow headband)  Esther (purple headband) Many struggles over who gets which toy occur every day... And usually the result is one happy baby and one sad baby. Tivoli is almost always happy, steady, and consistent. However, she loves to explore and escapes every time the door is left open. She really likes the dogs who are probably five times her size and like to lick her face. Guilty

Always so clean and fresh... Just kidding!  They had escaped outside, emptied the dogs water dish and then crawled across the gravel to the yard. Totally filthy and having a blast! When it was time to get cleaned up, I started their bath and went to get clean pjs... came back to guilty girls who hadn't waited for me to get them undressed. As the first picture shows, all that dirt was eventually gone! A chameleon we found by our gate on the way to school the other morning. The fact that they can move their eyes 360 degrees in DIFFERENT directions from one another is a bit freaky to watch! They hiss too when they think you are a little to close.  For those of you have not heard we have both good and bad news.  Good news first. Baby Esta stayed two nights with us after being released from the hospital. Aerial Tour of JAARS

Some would say a picture is worth a thousand words...I would say, this one is worth ten.  If you were wondering, MK Station stands for Missionary Kid Station. It's just a fancy way of saying it is a daycare for missionary kids. N61JA - The airplane I am currently being taught in. Affectionate terms do not describe this airplane. Commonly termed "The Humiliator" by pilots here, most would agree that flying this thing is definitely a character builder. Since it is a taildragger with the center of gravity designed to be a good distance back from the main wheels, it is especially difficult to keep straight down the runway centerline when landing. If you want a real life example, load up your grocery cart and shove it backwards. Notice which direction it goes. Everything but straight. Anyway,  Mark Wuerffel, describes it this way. Farewell Dinah

It was difficult to see Dinah go. In many ways, she became part of the family. To Jason, she was, "my Dinah girl." And we are proud of her because she accomplished what she came to do. What Dinah did was make this extremely difficult transition to Tanzania possible. She sacrificed being able to go to school or work at the hospital as a CNA. She exchanged family, a country she loves, and lasagna to change diapers and chase two energetic boys all day. Because on some days missions is an adventure, but on most days you find it is just this: Everyday life. And missions becomes what we ought to do anywhere we are. Serve God by loving Him and his people. And Dinah did this very well. The night before we had a surprise go-away party with the neighbours for Dinah.
